26 Sep 2012

An executive named as one of ‘America’s 15 Most Connected Capitalists’ by Forbes magazine has been appointed internet giant Yahoo! Inc’s new CFO. Ken Goldman takes on the role effective 22 October.

Goldman will be responsible for Yahoo!’s global finance functions, including financial planning and analysis, controllership, tax, treasury, and investor relations. He will report directly to Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer.

“Ken is one of the most accomplished and respected financial executives in the technology industry, having served as a CFO for more than 25 years, and we’re thrilled to have him join Yahoo!,” said Mayer.

“His track record leading the financial strategy and stewardship of many successful public and private companies makes him an ideal choice for Yahoo! as we enter our next phase of growth.”

Goldman joins Yahoo! from threat management technologies provider Fortinet, where he also served as CFO. He has also been a director on several public and private-sector boards.

Goldman succeeds Yahoo! CFO Tim Morse, who has been with the company since June 2009. Morse will leave Yahoo! later this fall.
