The board of directors at technology consulting firm Accenture has named CEO Pierre Nanterme as chairman of the board, to replace William D Green, who is stepping down from the role on 1 February 2013.
Nanterme succeeded Green as CEO on 1 January 2011, and has been a member of the Accenture board of directors since October 2010.
Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, lead director of the Accenture board, said the appointment of Nanterme reflects his “tremendous knowledge of Accenture’s business and global organisation, and the high regard in which he is held by the board of directors.”
“He has proven himself to be an outstanding leader,” Moody-Stuart said.
Nanterme said he is honoured to have been chosen to succeed Green.
