ESB International wins €750k consultancy contract in Tanzania

Irish engineering consultancy ESB International has won a €750,000, 18-month contract to provide services to Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

ESB International won the contract through an open and competitive tendering process. The company will now provide consultancy services for the design and implementation of TANESCO’s centralised customer contact centre in Dar es Salaam.

“Winning this contract reflects the depth of expertise ESB International has, which increasingly puts us in a good position to win business in highly competitive world markets,” said Ollie Brogan, managing director of ESB International.

“This contract will demonstrate our in-depth knowledge of electricity utility operations and of leveraging state-of-the-art IT and telecoms technology to support an efficient and more enhanced customer service offering.”

Eng Ms Sophia Mgonja, the acting deputy managing director of distribution and customer service, TANESCO, said the company anticipates tapping into ESB International’s contact centre expertise to help manage TANESCO’s business and continue to improve its performance over the coming 18 months.

“The broad objectives of this project are to improve the quality and standards of service in order to enhance TANESCO’s customer relations and improve its revenue collection,” Mgonja added.
