The founder and CEO of Chinese tech firm Leshi TV has likened Apple to Adolf Hitler in a poster teasing the launch of the company’s new smartphone.

Billionaire Jia Yueting posted the image – which depicts a cartoon Hitler wearing a red armband with the Apple logo replacing the Nazi swastika – via the social network Weibo, where his page boasts over 5 million followers.

As reported by The Verge, Yueting also included text in his post that when translated into English read: “Under the arrogant regime of iOS domination that developers around the world love yet hate, we are always carefully asking, ‘is this kind of innovation okay?'”

Apple bagged 93pc of all smartphone profit, globally, in Q4 of last year. In China, however, Xiaomi has been battling Samsung in recent months for market supremacy.

Xiaomi ended 2014 with one-eighth of the entire Chinese market, growing almost 200pc to do so. Samsung, however, dropped 22.4pc to finish just behind. Lenovo (11.2pc), Huawei (9.8pc) and Coolpad (9.4pc) rounded out the top five.
