WBT listed in e-learning leader quadrant

Irish enterprise e-learning software company WBT Systems has been listed in the leading quadrant of a Gartner report on global e-learning suites.

The Gartner report reviewed e-learning suites from 18 providers and placed six vendors in the leader quadrant.

Vendors were evaluated on their ability to execute and completeness of vision The number of vendors was reduced from 24 to 18 this time round and the number of companies in the leader quadrant fell from seven to six.

WBT’s TopClass E-learning Suite provides for adaptive, individualized learning paths based on an open standards-based Learning Objects Architecture. Declan Kelly, CEO of WBT Systems, commented: “We believe it is testament to our product offering; satisfied customer base; our global expansion programme; and our continuous investment in learning management platform R&D. In its report Magic Quadrant 2005: E-learning Suites, Gartner said: “Vendors in the leader quadrant have the highest combined measures of ability to execute and completeness of vision. They are doing well and are prepared for the future. They have: strong channel partners; presences in multiple geographies; consistent financial performance; broad platform support; good customer support; the most-comprehensive and scalable products; and the ability to deliver all of the key e-learning suite capabilities. Strong vision reflects a solid product strategy, combined with the management vision to make e-learning a focused initiative.”

In its assessment of the e-learning suite market overall, Gartner reported: “The e-learning suite market is evolving rapidly, as companies demand more comprehensive suites. When evaluating e-learning vendors and their suites, focus is on modularity, integration and personalization. With this approach you can focus on obtaining modules that are more relevant to your business goals and can therefore produce better results.”
