Citi to create 500 Belfast jobs

4 Nov 2010

US financial services corporation Citi is to create 500 new jobs in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter over the next five years.

Citi has a staff of 900 working in Northern Ireland, and it has continued to build its Belfast base over the past two years.

The new positions are expected to be announced this morning, with Northern Ireland’s First and Deputy First Ministers Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness, and Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster, expected to be in attendance.

Some 440 of the new jobs are to be high quality roles in the company’s technology and operations division, and the rest in the legal and compliance division.

The Belfast base mainly services Europe, the Middle East and Africa markets.
