BSB expansion to create 120 jobs in Dublin

21 Jul 2011

BSB is to expand its operations hub and add an R&D function at its Dublin office, bringing with it 120 new jobs to support the growth of its business across Europe.

BSB is a publisher of software solutions designed for the financial services industry.

The operations hub in Dublin is responsible for the development and integration of software solutions for BSB’s clients, sales and technical support. The Irish operation is critically important to BSB’s corporate strategy.

BSB’s R&D team in Dublin will develop new software technology and integrate new functions into its two leading software solutions: Solife for life insurance and Soliam for portfolio management.

The R&D team will include software developers, engineers and systems architects, and focus on enhancing its core products to offer significant new functionality and customisation features to suit a growing geographical market.

“I have repeatedly said that if we are to get out of this crisis, we must focus on relentlessly promoting the R&D agenda in order to create high-value jobs and create crucial spin-off benefits for Irish businesses, researchers and ultimately the economy as a whole. Today’s announcement that a major financial services software company is locating R&D functions and creating 120 jobs is fantastic news for the industry and for the country,” said Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD.

Commenting on the announcement, Frédéric Martin, head of BSB Ireland said, “In September 2009, we announced 20 high quality jobs at Master’s degree level over the next four years. The Irish operation has far exceeded our expectations due to the calibre and talent of people available here and to date we employ more than 50.

“Today’s expansion illustrates BSB’s deep commitment to Ireland. Our experience of doing business in Ireland is very positive and I thank IDA Ireland for its support. I now look forward to expanding BSB’s Irish operations further at this exciting time in our company’s development.”

IDA Ireland CEO Barry O’Leary said Ireland is well positioned to secure future investments in the key area of financial services technology.

BSB employs 400 people across Europe.
