Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB) in conjunction with the National Learning Network will launch its second free Work Analysis Programme on 31 March.
The launch of the second programme is due to the success of the first Work Analysis Programme earlier this month, which received excellent reviews from students.
The programme, which has been funded by The Dormant Accounts (Educational Disadvantage) Fund, is designed to help match people to their ideal type of work or training course.
Twenty-five unemployed people over 23 years of age participated in the first programme, which lasted six weeks, for three hours every Wednesday over the six weeks. There are already 13 on the waiting list for the next programme. The course is open to everyone aged over 23 years, who are unemployed and are not currently involved in education.
The topics that will be covered on the programme include: Learning profiler/working styles; customer care/service; sales and communication; career guidance; team building; negotiation skills; office skills; presentation skills; IT – basics; CV writing; further study options; college guidance, ie, Fetac, Hetac, CAO.
“We are delighted with the interest in the Work Analysis Programme. Feedback from a number of the current students indicates that the programme is relevant, inspiring and thought provoking. It is proving particularly helpful to people who are at a crossroads in their professional lives as the topics covered can assist them in planning their future career or study paths. We hope that the programme will become a regular six-week programme at ITB,” said Adrienne Harding, ITB access officer.
The second Work Analysis Programme will run over six Thursdays, from 10am–1pm on the following dates: April 7, April 14, April 28, May 5, May 12, and May 26.
