Limerick, Dundalk and Dublin will benefit today from five new jobs announcements from overseas emerging tech firms that have chosen to locate in Ireland – these include Culture Translate, Diaceutics, Nimble Apps, iMosphere and Unique Digital.

Today’s announcements come as part of IDA Ireland’s Expand & Internationalise your business through Ireland event in Berlin, taking place on Wednesday, 25 April, which will be attended by some of the leading emerging companies in Europe, showcasing Ireland as the location of choice for high-growth companies seeking to establish an international base.

Thirty of the new jobs will be created in Dublin by Culture Translate. The company is based on a core localisation team, drawing on the skills of translation, games and finance specialists.

The company serves 15 of the world’s leading gaming companies and provides language support in 18 languages. The centre announced today it will service the company’s existing contracts with its client gaming companies and will be responsible for servicing new contracts as the company grows and expands.

Digital healthcare

A further 20 new jobs will be created in Dundalk by Diaceutics, an international business consulting and software application firm specialising in personalised medicine.

These new positions will be located in the incubation centre in Dundalk Institute of Technology and will focus on the further development of Diaceutics Fusion a proprietary web-based software application that provides a range of business intelligence and performance management applications used for personalised medicine planning, collaboration and decision making for the global pharmaceutical sector. Recruitment will begin immediately for IT professionals and industry analysts.

Apps analytics

Ten new jobs will be created at Dublin’s Digital Hub by Nimble Apps Ltd, the publisher of online sales analysis and forecasting solution SalesClic.

SalesClic integrates with Salesforce and Google Apps.

Nimble recently started staffing a US and UK-focused sales and marketing team. The Irish Government, through IDA Ireland, worked closely with the company to attract this investment to Ireland.

Cloud services

Seventeen new jobs will be created in Limerick by iMosphere. The operation, based at the Nexus Innovation Centre at University of Limerick, will play a key role in driving the company’s international business, creating the highly skilled jobs over the next three years and will be responsible for hosting its cloud-based services, sales, marketing and technical support activities for its worldwide activities.

iMosphere is a new company established by FACE UK to manage its hosted and enterprise for the solutions for the North American and world healthcare market. FACE is a major supplier of assessment tools and healthcare software in the UK for the last 20 years.

The remaining new jobs will be created by digital cinema software company Unique Digital Ltd, which is expanding its European headquarters in Dublin.

Unique Digital Ltd is the world’s leading provider of digital cinema software, servicing the international market. The company designs and develops software and hardware solutions for film distributors, cinemas and advertisers. The company’s growing list of territories boasts 20 countries to date.

New cohort of emerging businesses

Making the announcements, Bruton said: “A key part of the Government’s plan for jobs and growth is ensuring that we deepen and develop the impact of multinational investment here. We have a base of multinational companies here that is the envy of the world, but if we are to create the numbers of jobs we need we must build on this and attract a new cohort of companies which we haven’t reached before.

“Today’s announcement that five high-growth early-stage European companies are locating operations in Ireland with the creation of 77 jobs is great news. These are companies that might be relatively small now, but have the potential to grow exponentially and create large numbers of jobs here. Through continued implementation of the Action Plan for Jobs I am determined to ensure that we attract a wider spread of multinational companies and help get Ireland back to work.”

IDA Ireland chief executive Barry O’Leary said the importance of companies internationalising at an early stage has never been greater and Ireland provides the perfect environment in which to do this. Ireland has built a strong reputation as an international hub for a variety of business sectors and hosts the top 10 born-on-the-internet companies, including Twitter, Google, eBay/PayPal and Facebook.

Ireland’s talent pool has established a strong track record in attracting FDI, and generous tax credits for research and development activities has led to a large number of companies choosing Ireland as the location from which to internationalise their business. The experience of new businesses locating operations in Ireland has been of quick execution and speed to market.
