Laya Healthcare to create 100 jobs in Cork

14 May 2012

Laya Healthcare, formerly Quinn Healthcare, is to create 100 new jobs at the company’s call centre in Cork to support the firm’s expansion and the launch of a new cardiac screening initiative.

Laya currently employs 343 people at its Cork headquarters.

The company today launched a new cardiac screening service called HeartBeat aimed at tackling sudden adult death syndrome (SADS) which takes the lives of two young people every week in Ireland.

The company also launched a new 3-2-1 offer on its Health Smart and Health Smart Family schemes, allowing people who switch to either scheme to receive three months of free health insurance cover.

Laya’s healthcare policies are underwritten by Elips Insurance, a subsidiary of Swiss Re.

New consumer healthcare champion

Laya’s chief executive Donal Clancy said the company is positioning itself to be the key consumer champion in the private health insurance market.

“All of us involved in the sector recognise that there are significant issues and problems which need to be resolved. For our part we, at Laya Healthcare, will do everything possible to ensure that our members have a strong voice from within the industry to champion their cause and to add positively to the national healthcare debate.

“Our new company philosophy is totally focused on securing the best possible outcome for our members,” Clancy said.
