Ward Solutions to create 20 new jobs as part of €3m investment

23 Jul 2012

IT security services player Ward Solutions is to create 20 new jobs for highly qualified and experienced security professionals as part of a €3m investment.

This news follows the doubling in size of its Dublin Citywest information security facility, where the jobs will be based.

Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, TD, welcomed news of the jobs.

The projected annual growth for the business is 300pc internationally and 50pc domestically.

Ward Solutions head office is in Dublin’s Citywest and it also has sales offices in Limerick and Belfast. Some of its key business partners include Microsoft, Oracle, Dell, Check Point, Cisco, McAfee, Fortinet and Aruba Networks.

The company has a blue-chip client base with more than 300 customers covering a range of sectors, including education and research, telecommunications, government, transportation, hi-tech, financial services, healthcare and construction.

Steady growth

“Ward Solutions’ Irish operations have continued to grow since we were established in 1999,” Pat Larkin, chief executive at Ward Solutions, said.

“In the past two years we have achieved 20pc annual growth, secured the employment of 20 new employees and acquired more than 120 new customers.

“The planned future investment of €3m announced today is about continuing to build on this momentum and delivering on our growth strategy. This includes the further addition of 20 new people to our workforce over the next two years.

“Today’s announcement is about increasing our footprint nationally and internationally and promoting our unique service offerings and innovations. For example, we have just launched an outsourced Information Security and Data Protection service that is offered on a 24 x 7 basis at a fraction of the cost of resourcing such a role or team.”

Larkin said that the range and sophistication of threats to systems and infrastructure have increased dramatically in the last five years.

“This trend is forecast to continue based on the returns offered by cybercrime, fraud, and the pursuit of numerous political, terrorist and anarchical agendas. In response to this reality of our digitised world, Ward Solutions provides full security services and has end-to-end capabilities covering consultancy, assurance, solutions and incident response.”
