Internet search giant Google and software company SAS are the world’s best companies in which to be employed, CNNMoney’s ranking ’25 Best Global Companies to Work For’ reveals.
The No 1 spot on the list went to software company SAS, lauded for accessibility to its leaders.
“CEO Jim Goodnight hosts monthly ‘Conversations Over Coffee,’ unscripted breakfast meetings that are open to all employees,” said CNNMoney.
What makes Google, at No 2, so great, according to CNNMoney, is coaching services it offers its employees.
“The company’s ‘CareerGuru’ programme makes 43 of its senior leaders available for one-on-one, confidential career coaching sessions with other Googlers. Gurus, are deployed in 14 offices across the world,” CNNMoney said.
In third spot is data storage provider NetApp, which hosts regular orientation meetings for new employees to meet senior managers.
Consumer product conglomerate Kimberly-Clark ranks at No 4, with CNNMoney noting the company’s efforts to make new employees feel welcome, via welcome and information letters and co-workers who guide them through orientation.
Software giant Microsoft comes in at fifth place, praised for its work in helping women interested in working in technology.
Other technology companies in CNNMoney’s ‘25 Best Global Companies to Work For’ list include Autodesk (No 10), Telefónica (No 13), Intel (No 15), National Instruments (No 16), and Cisco (No 21).
