Enterprise Ireland is expanding its Silicon Valley team

29 Apr 2013

Enterprise Ireland is beefing up its existing presence in Mountain View, California, where the State agency helps Irish companies win business in Silicon Valley and grow exports.

According to a jobs posting on LinkedIn that has been circulating in the past few days, the agency is seeking to hire two new market advisers.

Enterprise Ireland reported in recent weeks that its client companies’ export sales in 2012 broke the €16bn mark for the first time, with the greatest wins coming from sectors such as software, engineering, medical devices, and internationally traded services.

The roles consist of a senior vice-president specialising in telecoms and corporate innovation scouting, and a vice-president specialising in enterprise and cloud solutions.

The individuals being sought are expected to have strong industry knowledge and be capable of consulting one-on-one with Irish companies to accelerate their exports.

They must also understand the challenges faced by early stage SMEs with ambitious growth plans.

Both positions are being offered on the basis of a three-year contract and only candidates with valid US work authorisation will be considered.

Enterprise Ireland is present in a number of key locations across the US, where it has incubation space for Irish companies expanding into the US, with incubation offices in New York, Boston and Silicon Valley.
