What tech employers want: Accenture (video)

Having recently announced 140 jobs in Ireland, Accenture was at Career Zoo this 14 September to seek out the right candidates for these positions. We spoke to Francis McGuire, managing director of client service delivery, about what skills and qualities the company looks for in employees, as well as the benefits of working with a globally recognised brand.

It turns out, job opportunities at Accenture are wide ranging and the company is seeking to recruit people with a mix of skills, both on the technological side as well as soft skills, like project management and business analysis. McGuire himself started out in a technical role and worked his way up to management level.

In-house opportunities and training is part of the culture at Accenture and McGuire says it’s the right place for people who want to develop quickly, learn fast and move through the ranks.

Though Accenture is competing for talent in competitive areas like IT and software development, McGuire believes the recognition of the brand and its clients is of great assistance in attracting job-seekers.

“Change is constant in Accenture,” he says of the working environment. “You will be challenged every day by your client and by Accenture.”
