Gilt to create 45 software engineering jobs in Dublin

31 Oct 2013

E-commerce company Gilt is to establish a Platform Innovation Centre in Dublin and with it, 45 software engineering jobs over the next two years.

In addition to the software engineering jobs, Gilt will also continue to add finance and customer service positions in its Limerick office. The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, through IDA Ireland, is supporting the project.

Richard Bruton, TD, Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, together with Michelle Peluso, CEO of Gilt, announced today that Gilt is to make a further investment in its Irish operations with the establishment of the Platform Innovation Centre.

The new centre will own and accelerate some of Gilt’s most critical development projects, Peluso said.

She added that Gilt’s Irish technology team has been instrumental in further developing the company’s core e-commerce platform, “bringing a combination of engineering discipline, innovation and a passion for quality that is rare”.

Bruton said e-commerce is a major growth sector the Government has targeted as part of its plan for jobs and growth, and in recent years it has seen significant progress in this area.

“Ireland’s reputation is now strong, our offering is highly competitive and with continued strong implementation of our plan we can see further jobs growth in the multinational sector in the coming months and years,” said Bruton.

Gilt first established operations in Ireland in 2011 and now employs more than 150 people in the country, with offices in Limerick and Dublin.
