28 Mar 2014

A Mayo-based cloud services company, CloudStrong, has announced the creation of 19 new jobs in the area.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Enterprise Ireland revealed the new jobs, which will triple the company’s current workforce.

CloudStrong will be hiring to fill roles in the technical, sales and marketing areas.

Founded in 2011, the Castlebar-based company specialises in providing cloud solutions and expertise to the ICT sector. It has also worked with a number of SMEs in implementing cloud-based systems.

CloudStrong has accelerated its export drive in the UK and expect sales to be worth €1.1m by 2016.

Oliver Surdival, managing director, CloudStrong, said the company is delighted to be creating job opportunities in the west of Ireland.

“The main driver is the continued adoption of cloud solutions in the SME market. The team at CloudStrong has built a solid reputation in delivering complex SME projects to the cloud,” Surdival said.

Kenny, a Mayo native, welcomed the news of more high-tech job creation in different areas of Ireland.

“This Government’s top priority is creating jobs and getting people across the country back to work,” Kenny said. “It is hugely encouraging to see an Irish technology company like CloudStrong creating new jobs in the west. It is good news for the local region and it is also good news for the fast-growing cloud computing sector.”
