Fast-growing Boxever hits 30 people, seven more jobs on the way

28 Jul 2014

Dublin-based big data analytics player Boxever has grown employment 44pc since January, with its headcount reaching 30 people, and seven more jobs are planned in the coming months.

Boxever CEO Dave O’Flanagan, CTO Alan Giles and VP of engineering Dermot O’Connor founded the company in Dublin in 2010.

Boxever receives backing from Polaris Partners, a tier 1 US venture-capital firm based in Boston and also the firm behind Dog Patch Labs in Dublin, leading a US$6m Series A round in the first quarter of this year. Prior to that, Boxever raised a US$1m seed round in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The company has relocated its headquarters to Ashford House in Dublin to accommodate the 44pc increase in new employees since January.

The expansion also includes the establishment of the company’s first international office in Boston, which will be focused on global marketing and account development activities.

“It’s clear we have found a real need in the travel industry for a more efficient and effective way to deal with the surge of data airlines and online travel agencies (OTAs) are getting from multiple customer channels,” said O’Flanagan.

“This strong interest has resulted in a growing need for skilled resources across all our operations.”

In addition to processing millions of guest profiles, Boxever helps airlines and OTAs improve core KPIs associated with converting and retaining customers. Boxever customers have realised double-digit uplifts in conversion and retention programmes resulting in millions of dollars in additional revenue, according to the company.

Key hires added or augmented since January include sales, marketing, data science, engineering, and client services.
