Telecoms firm Viatel’s €125m expansion to include new jobs

19 Aug 2014

Telecommunications firm Viatel is to infuse €125m into a major expansion over the coming year that includes jobs, acquisitions, and the extension of its fibre infrastructure, cloud services and data centres.

Colm Piercy, CEO of Viatel, said the Dublin-based company is expanding its sales, technical and product development and delivery teams in Dublin, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt.

Funding partner Proventus Capital Partners is supporting Viatel in its expansion, which Piercy said will enable Viatel to accelerate its growth and transform the European telecommunications sector.

“While we already connect 150 data centres and thousands of multinational enterprises and organisations across Western Europe, this investment will now enable us to enhance our services and to extend our reach further and deeper within Europe, and to connect new locations in the USA, Canada, the Middle East and Asia,” Piercy added.
