Smart Electronics to create 20 jobs in Clare

22 Sep 2014

Electronic equipment manufacturer Smart Electronics has announced it will create 20 new jobs over the next two years following the award of the ISO 13485:2012 certification for the company’s quality management system.

The ISO 13485:2012 is a regulatory requirement for any firm supplying non-invasive devices to the medical sector. The 20 full-time positions will be based in Smart Electronic’s premises in Shannon, Co Clare.

“Obtaining this certification validates our efforts to ensure high quality at all levels of our business,” said Shane Adams, managing director of Smart Electronics.

“We are committed to providing the highest standards and already have ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications in place. This award is confirmation of our commitment to improve company performance and provide our customers with the confidence that they are dealing with an organisation devoted to providing on-going quality”.

To achieve the certification, Smart Electronics – who also provided electronic equipment to the environmental and telecoms industries – worked with the assessment and verification body, NQA.
