Digicom launches GreenTech audit service

30 Sep 2010

A new green tech audit, which could see businesses appreciate the relationship between environmental responsibilities and business goals, was announced today.

Digicom, an Irish supplier of office technology equipment and partner of Ricoh in Ireland, made the announcement at the official launch of its ‘GreenTech Audit’ for corporate clients at the Collaborative Technology seminar, held in the Aviva stadium – which highlighted potential areas of saving for many corporate clients.

With their experience conducting client audits to date, Digicom said it can save “a minimum of 20pc on business hardware electricity usage and a minimum of 22pc on corporate travel costs”.

Mismanagement

On top of this, the mismanagement of corporate documents is costing businesses on average 25pc more than necessary, according to Digicom.

“Irish businesses are becoming more and more aware of the importance of combining business goals with environmental responsibilities. Taking steps to implement environmentally friendly practices demonstrates commitment to managing the impact of business activities on the community around them,” said Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley, TD, at the launch.

“It is a clear win-win and in today’s times … To be able to both save money and reduce our clients’ carbon footprint is compelling in itself,” commented Greg Clarke, managing director, Digicom, at the conference.

The ‘GreenTech Audit’ takes place over a two-to-four-week period and helps customers to define their sustainability and cost-saving goals and implement a customised programme to achieve sustainability.
