A screenshot which may be of Google Drive has leaked, suggesting that Google’s rumoured cloud storage service will offer 5GB of free storage and will sync across all devices.
The Next Web reports that the screenshot claims Google Drive will offer 5GB of free storage. An earlier report suggested Google would only offer 1GB for free. However, offering more would make sense if it wants to compete against the current market leader Dropbox, which offers 2GB free.
The screenshot claims that users will be able to access files stored on Google Drive through the desktop, mobile phone, tablet and drive.google.com. Users can edit a file and the changes will be synced to the file on all platforms.
Rumours of Google Drive have been floating since 2006 and in February 2012, reports suggested that Google was finally ready to launch it.
A recent report suggested it could launch in the first week of April. It could resemble Google Docs and may let third-party developers use an API to let them store content from their apps to Google Drive.
