Vodafone reveals new DSL and MiFi ‘Broadband in a Box’ package

8 Jun 2010

Vodafone has introduced a new broadband package that combines a fixed broadband modem with a 3G broadband modem, enabling users to enjoy DSL broadband at home or at work and have a mobile Wi-Fi (MiFi) network with them on the move.

Available from Vodafone stores from today, the Broadband in a Box package costs €54.99 and includes free calls to Vodafone mobiles; free local and national landline calls and free calls to UK landlines.

The unique Broadband in a Box product comes with an Huawei advanced fixed home broadband modem and also a 3G broadband modem that inserts into the modem or can be used on its own.

Because Broadband in a Box has plug-and-play capability, there is no interruption to home line service while you switch. This two-in-one technology puts the consumer in control, providing the flexibility to use the internet at home and away.

The package caters for 3Mbps download speeds on fixed DSL, with some regions reaching up to 8Mbps uncongested speeds.

In terms of data usage policies, the package comes with limits of 40GB usage on fixed and 10GB usage on mobile

“By combining fixed and mobile in one simple, easy-to-use product, we are giving our customers not only the quality that they expect from Vodafone, but the value too,” said Vodafone’s new consumer director Stefano Gastaut.

Vodafone Broadband in a Box is available to purchase for €19.99 once off, and packages are €54.99 for Off-Peak Talk package, and €60.99 for Talk Anytime.

Vodafone is also today launching a business-to-business (B2B) version of Broadband in a Box for small business customers, including unlimited fixed to Vodafone Ireland mobile calls and unlimited national landline calls. Business prices start from only €64 excluding VAT and packages are tailored for business use.
