Irish firm NewBay has struck a major deal with America's largest mobile operator, AT&T
Dublin mobile software firm NewBay’s technology is at the heart of a new service called AT&T Mobile Share that will enable US mobile users to upload, manage, store and share all user-generated videos and photos on multiple screens.
Users can, via NewBay’s technology, easily send media to contact lists, personal computers, an online-based AT&T Locker or leading social-networking sites, such as Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and Photobucket.
The deal is the latest in a succession of high-profile deals for Paddy Holohan’s company, the latest of which is a key deal with LG to put social media functionality into its latest Android smartphones.
“Our subscribers have made sharing photos and videos with friends and family a big part of their digital lifestyles,” said Ted Woodbery, vice-president of Wireless Data, Voice and Ancillary Products for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.
“With AT&T Mobile Share, we wanted to enable this through a simple user experience. This service makes it easier for our customers to quickly and securely share and store the important events they’ve captured on their cellphones.”
The service is comprised of several components:
“We know AT&T is committed to providing a terrific user experience and we are proud to be their supplier of choice in helping to deliver this uniquely tailored service to their customers,” Dr Nagappan Arunchalam, chief marketing officer at NewBay, explained.
