Some 70 Irish technology companies will be attending this year’s GSMA World Congress and trade fair in Barcelona, Spain, which will be attended by more than 50,000 senior mobile leaders from 200 countries.
Twenty-five of the companies will be exhibiting at the Enterprise Ireland stand at the pivotal event, which kicks off next week. Forty-five companies will be visiting the GSM Mobile World Congress, where CEOs of Microsoft, Nokia and Yahoo! are joining other CEOs, like Google’s Eric Schmidt, Twitter’s Jack Dorsey, Intel’s Paul Otellini and Vodafone’s Vittorio Calao to give keynotes.
A number of Enterprise Ireland clients will also be exhibiting on their own stands, including Ezetop, Feedhenry, Newbay and Openet.
Among the companies attending the Enterprise Ireland stand will be GOS Networks, Zapa Technologies, Altobridge and Solaris Mobile.
Massive transformation of mobile ecosystem
“This year’s GSMA Mobile World Congress takes place as the mobile ecosystem enters the midst of an unprecedented wave of transformation,” explained Jennifer Condon, Enterprise Ireland’s head of software.
“With technology evolving and perceptions shifting, the mobile internet is as influential as the fixed internet one decade ago.
“The Irish mobile technology industry is young, innovative and punches well above its weight compared to the size of the country. Irish mobile companies have already proven themselves by selling innovative products and services to global telecoms companies.
“The Irish firms participating in this event will be launching innovative products and services to address this next-generation mobile ecosystem,” Condon said.
