eMobile’s new pay plan – 45,000 minutes, 10,000 texts for €49

1 Mar 2011

Eircom’s mobile division eMobile has launched a new pay plan called ‘Select Unlimited Talk&Text’, where for €49 a month, the operator’s customers will get nearly 45,000 minutes a month and 10,000 texts.

The operator calls the plan unlimited because there are only 44,640 minutes in a 31-day month. The 10,000 texts offer works out at 322 texts a day.

Under the new plan, Eircom’s customers can choose from 15 free mobiles, including the Nokia C5, the Nokia 6700 Classic and the Nokia 7230.

In terms of smartphones, the operator has free smartphones in the plan, which include the Samsung Galaxy Europa, the Sony Ericsson X8 and the HTC Wildfire

For €10 more per month, users can get 1GB of data with this plan. Heavy data users can get 10GB of data for €14.99 more per month.

Mobile competition heats up

“There is no other bill-pay plan on the market as competitive as this new plan,” said Carolan Lennon, chief commercial officer, Eircom.

“Our Select Unlimited Talk&Text plan offers significant savings over our competitors – we’re saving our customers hundreds of euros. eMobile promised excellent value, simple and straightforward plans and most of all we promised no hidden surprises – our new plan genuinely lives up to this promise.

“Put simply – the current comparable offerings from our key competitors don’t come close to the value we are providing with this plan. We are giving our customers the freedom to use their mobile without worrying about limits or costs,” Lennon said.
