Vodafone’s HD Voice offers improved audio quality of calls

Vodafone Ireland has launched HD Voice, offering higher quality audio calling across the Vodafone 3G network. It minimises background noise, aiming to make the speaker easier to hear.

It aims to make it easier to make and receive calls in noisy environments and to make it easier to identify individual voices during conference calls.

The new feature is being made available for free to Vodafone customers with HD Voice-enabled devices.

Compatible devices include the Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro.

“Vodafone Ireland is delighted to be the first operator in Ireland to launch HD Voice, which is part of our ongoing investment into building and maintaining our network,” said Vodafone Ireland CTO Fergal Kelly.

“To date, we have invested over €800m in developing 3G services in Ireland as part of a €1bn investment programme,” said Kelly.
