Google says Google Talk (Gtalk) restoration is under way

26 Jul 2012

The service outage that had plagued Google’s messaging service Google Talk (Gtalk) today is in the process of being restored and the full service is already working for some users, the internet giant has said.

“Google Talk service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future,” Google said on its Apps Status Page.

“Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change,” it warned.

From this morning, Google users began reporting they couldn’t access their contacts or send messages.

Google acknowledged the service outage and was endeavouring to get the service back up and running by this afternoon.
