Dublin passengers of Irish Rail’s Commuter Fleet can now take advantage of free Wi-Fi aboard all trains on the Gorey, Kildare, Maynooth, Drogheda, and M3 Parkway lines.
The rollout brings Irish Rail closer to its goal of making Ireland the first country in Europe to have Wi-Fi on its entire train fleet.
“We are delighted to now be able to offer our commuter customers fast, reliable free Wi-Fi access as they travel,” Paul O’Kelly, marketing manager at Irish Rail, had said.
“The huge growth in smartphones, tablets and other Wi-Fi-ready devices means that connectivity on the move has become essential for business and leisure travellers alike.”
Provider of public transport Wi-Fi services, Fleetconnect, had installed the service on Irish Rail’s Commuter Fleet.
