Vodafone says Irish customers already availing of fixed-price deal

12 May 2014

Despite claims to the contrary, Irish customers of mobile operator Vodafone are not missing out on a fixed-price promise rolled out in the UK last week because it is already in place, the operator told Siliconrepublic.com.

In the UK, Vodafone customers will not have to pay any increases in their monthly line rental contract.

However, reports in the media suggested Irish customers would not get the same deal because they do not subscribe to the same terms and conditions.

In a statement this afternoon, Vodafone attempted to clear up the matter, by pointing out there is already a fixed-price agreement in place for all new and existing customers, including SIM only and mobile broadband.

“This agreement means their customers are not subject to any price increases in their monthly line rental within their pay monthly bundle for the duration of their contract term.

“The fixed-price promise, which has always been available to Vodafone Ireland customers, was launched by Vodafone in the UK for the first time last week.”
