7 Sep 2012

Accenture technology and media expert Daniel Adams has been added to a stellar line-up at our Digital Ireland Forum on 21 September that includes writer and broadcaster Ben Hammersley and digital communications expert Neville Hobson, as well as many of Ireland’s top tech CEOs and experts.

Daniel Adams, executive director, Communications, Media & Technology at Accenture will travel from the UK to join confirmed panelists that include Vodafone CEO Jeroen Hoencamp, RTÉ Digital managing director Múirne Laffan, BT Ireland CEO Colm O’Neill, Tibus director Andrew Maybin, TelecityGroup managing director Maurice Mortell, Interxion Ireland CEO Tanya Duncan, and KPMG partner Anna Scally.

Keynote Ben Hammersley is an author, technologist and writer, who specialises in the effects of the internet on modern society. He is also British Prime Minister David Cameron’s ambassador to TechCity, London’s equivalent of Silicon Valley, and editor-at-large of Wired magazine in the UK.

Keynote Neville Hobson is an opinion leader and influencer in digital communication for business, and is a frequent public and private speaker on digital media trends that matter to organisations. Hobson has been blogging since 2002, and is co-presenter with Shel Holtz of the For Immediate Release podcast series, including the weekly The Hobson & Holtz Report, which started in January 2005.

The theme of the 21 September event is ‘The Age of the Connected Consumer’. Broadcaster and author Matt Cooper will chair panel discussions, before an audience of C-suite executives and senior policy makers, on how the demands and needs of this new consumer is transforming how we do business, how we transact, and even how governments interact with their citizens.

Technology leaders and experts will discuss the risks and opportunities for Ireland as it seeks to be a winner in the race to serve the global connected consumer in an always-on world of broadband, smartphones, digital TV and social media.

Themes covered will include how Irish businesses and organisations navigate this brave new world, and at the same time how we can we harness this major evolution in technology for Ireland’s economic prosperity.

We will ask what more Ireland can do to ensure its place as a hub for digital services and content in the 21st century, and what are the implications in terms of skills, job opportunities, infrastructure investment and creativity?

Early bird booking closes at midnight tonight.
