iPad to go on sale in Ireland in July
Following a UK release date of 28 May for the iPad, Apple plans to release its tablet device in Ireland this July but has not given any specific date as of yet.
Apple has just announced that following the US release a further nine countries - the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Canada, Italy, Japan and Switzerland - will have the iPad by 28 May with pre-orders beginning from 10 May.
Following this second wave of release, the third round will include not just Ireland but also Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Hong Kong, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore, but Apple has not given any specifics on when we might see it in stores or when pre-orders will begin.
There is also no information on the regional pricing of the iPad but Apple says this information will be announced soon.
On 4 May, Apple announced it has already sold its one-millionth iPad tablet computer, just 28 days after it was introduced on 3 April. It also said iPad users have already downloaded more than 12 million apps and more than 1 million e-books from the new iBookStore.
