Toshiba to launch 3D-ready laptop

18 Aug 2010

Toshiba have announced the arrival of the Toshiba Satellite A665, a 3D-ready HD laptop.

The laptop is powered by a combination of Nvidia 3D vision technology and the latest Intel Core Series processors.

With a heavy focus on multimedia, the A665 comes bundled with 3D Vision active shutter glasses and a selection of pre-installed 3D games.

The 15.6 inch TruBrite LED backlit screen scans at a refresh rate of 120Hz and can connect with the shutter glasses using an infrared signal. This synchronises immediately to alternately display different perspectives for each eye, heightening the 3D effect.

Toshiba says that Blu-ray 3D movie support will require Nvidia’s new driver package and Corel Blu-ray player software, which will be available later in the year.

The Satellite A665 also includes integrated Harman Kardon stereo speakers and Dolby Advanced Audio to further boost the sound projection. It has Resolution+ picture processing technology, which boosts the contrast, saturation and sharpness of DVD images.

The laptop’s RRP is €1,519 in Ireland.
