Video of girl throwing puppies into river causes internet outrage

A video of a young woman apparently throwing live puppies into a river has caused a huge internet backlash, sparking angry comments and Facebook pages against her.

The clip, which has been removed from YouTube, shows a teenage girl with what seems to be a bucket holding six puppies. Throughout the 43-second clip, she picks them up one at a time and throws each one into a river.

It is unclear whether this video is a hoax or is legitimate, however, it has already caused an enormous reaction against her from websites such as 4chan and Reddit.

A Facebook group has been created which has already attracted more than 4,000 members and has received numerous angry and violent comments against her.

Some commenters claim the girl is from the Bosnian town of Bugojno, with a population of 50,000.

This video follows the previous outrage at CCTV footage of a woman who threw a cat into a bin.

The video was uploaded by the cat’s owners, who were upset by this act.

Viewers reacted strongly and, within a few hours, her identity, place of work and phone number were revealed and she began to receive death threats. She was soon put under police protection.

The woman, named Mary Bale, later apologised, stating that the act was “out of character” for her.

This latest video of animal abuse, however, is comparatively crueller, so it could evoke a stronger reaction than that of Bale’s case.
