11 Oct 2010

The Kinect Experiential Centre on Grafton Street in Dublin has been launched, offering the public the chance to try out the motion-based Xbox 360 peripheral for themselves.

The doors will officially open on 12 October at midday, giving the public the chance to play games such as Kinect Sports, Kinectimals, Kinect Joy Ride, Kinect Adventures and Dance Central.

It will be open from Tuesday until Sunday, 31 October.

“We are really excited about the opportunity to bring Kinect to the Irish public, building excitement ahead of Christmas,” said Kieran Penwill, Ireland country manager for Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division.

“Over the course of the month, we are giving consumers a taste of what to expect when it arrives on 10th of November.”

The opening of the Kinect Experiential Centre comes after the launch of Sony’s PlayStation Hub, which gives the public the opportunity to try out its Move controller and new titles for the console.

The Kinect Centre will let the public try out the controller-free, motion-based system for themselves, prior to the Christmas rush.

The Kinect will cost €149.99 and will launch on 10 November. It will also be included in an Xbox 360 console bundle, which also offers the game Kinect Adventures, which will retail at €299.99.
