The next instalment of Uncharted has been announced for the Playstation 3, titled Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

Developed by Naughty Dog, the action-adventure title will see players take on the role of fortune hunter Nathan Drake on a journey into the heart of the Arabian Desert in search of the “Atlantis of the Sands.”

The trek pits him and his mentor Victor Sullivan against a shadowy clandestine organisation and its leader.

However, once the city’s secrets are unearthed, the quest “descends into a desperate bid for survival,” straining Drake’s limits of endurance and forces him to “confront his deepest fears.”

The game promises to have bigger set pieces than before and a return of the competitive and co-op multiplayer.

New fighting moves have been added, including hand-to-hand combat with multiple opponents, contextual melee attacks and new stealth options.

With this environment, the game feature new physics, visuals and environmental effects, with sand, fire, smoke and water dynamics.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception will also be playable in Stereoscopic 3D.

No release date has been set for the anticipated title yet.
