Lush’ website gets hacked
Handmade cosmetics outlet Lush has been hacked online, causing the company to pull down its website.
According to a statement on the homepage, customers who placed online orders on the site between 4 October 2010 and 20 January 2011 may have been affected, and they should contact their banks for advice on the matter.
Customers potentially exposed to the breach have been contacted and people who bought products in-store were not affected.
Lush has commissioned an external forensic investigation on the breach. Its web team also told the hacker or hackers that, while their talents are “formidable,” they could not offer them a job, due to the fact their morals are “clearly not compatible” with theirs and that of its customers.
Samsung launches new computers in Ireland
Samsung has released both the NF210 and the N210 netbooks in Ireland.
The NF210 runs on Windows 7. It features a HD LED display, a surround-sound system, along with an Intel Atom N550 processor. Its battery life lasts up to 11 hours and can come out of advanced sleep mode within 3 seconds of opening the display.
The N210 includes an Intel Atom N450 processor, an anti-reflective display and an integrated Digital LiveCam for video conferencing.
Both netbooks come with Samsung Easy File, letting users share content from PC to PC over a Wi-Fi connection.
The Samsung NF210 costs €399 and the Samsung N210 costs €340.
PSP2 may offer OLED touchscreen and 3G connectivity
The next PlayStation Portable will reportedly feature a sharp OLED touchscreen display and 3G connectivity.
According to Japanese newspaper Nikkei, the PSP2’s 3G will allow gamers to play multiplayer games over this connection and download games and videos through the connection, as well.
The source also says the screen will be much larger than before and more detailed.
The PSP2 is set to be unveiled on 27 January.
