Toshiba has launched a number of new laptops, updating its Portege, Satellite and Tecra ranges.
The Portege R830 is Toshiba’s most advanced ultra portable laptop to date. Featuring a 13.3-inch screen, the laptop is 18.3mm at its thinnest point.
Toshiba said it runs on the “latest Intel processors” with up to 8GB of DDR3 memory. The device also has a 500GB hard disk drive with an integrated 3D impact sensor to protect the internal storage from knocks and sudden movements.
It offers an Airflow Cooling system, co-developed by both Intel and Toshiba, which directs cool air towards the laptop’s main processing unit while keeping components cool and keeping fan noise at a minimum.
The Portege R830 has up to eight and a half hours of battery life and offers USB 3.0 connectivity, allowing a transferal speed of up to 5 GB per second.
It also has integrated docking, providing access to office networks and peripherals.
The laptop also has Toshiba’s EasyGuard security suite, which uses encryption software, password utilities and a fingerprint scanner.
Both the R830 and the R850 feature the latest Intel CPUs and USB 3.0 connectivity.
They each offer more than eight hours of battery life and a cooling system, like the Portege R830.
The R830 has a 13.3-inch screen, weighs 1.5kg and is 18.3mm at its thinnest point with an integrated DVD drive, a full performance CPU and a full-size keyboard.
The R850 has a 15.6-inch screen along with a numeric keypad for data input.
Both of these business laptops have the EasyGuard security suite, with added facial recognition software.
They also have Intel CPUs, USB 3.0 connectivity, two additional USB 2.0 ports and a HDMI port.
Each laptop has a 500GB hard disk drive and an integrated 3D impact sensor that detects impact or sudden movements.
The R840 has a 14-inch screen with LED backlighting and weighs 1.99kg.
The R850 has a 15.6-inch screen with a dedicated numeric keypad.
Both devices have an eco utility to adjust power settings to match the user’s personal preference.
