Apple offers students a €75 Mac apps gift card

17 Jun 2011

Apple is offering students, lecturers and university staff a €75 University Gift Card to buy apps on the Mac and iOS App Stores, as well as goods on iTunes if they buy a new Mac with Apple education pricing between now and September.

Apple offers special education pricing on computers, software and selected third-party products to students, parents of students, lecturers and staff.

Under the Apple pricing scheme for students, parents, academics and college workers can get discounts of typically 10pc off selected products.

For example, a brand new MacBook will sell for €900 (a €99 discount), a MacBook Pro will start at €1,126 (€200 off), a MacBook Air will cost €938 (€97 off) and an iMac will start at €1,081 (€114 off).

But there is a catch – under Apple’s terms and conditions, if a buyer who qualifies for the education discount returns his or her Mac, the refund may be reduced by the full amount of the University Gift Card.
