GameStop is opening 55 stores across Ireland at midnight on 7 November for the worldwide release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

The game, developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision Blizzard, will also be available as part of a console bundle. The limited-edition 320GB Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 will be available for €119.99 when gamers trade in a 250GB Xbox 360 console.

The game can also be purchased for €3 when gamers trade in three games from an extensive list of titles.

The Call of Duty franchise has experienced huge success, with Call of Duty: Black Ops making US$360m in sales on its release date and US$1bn just six weeks after its launch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 made US$310m on its launch day.

Activision Blizzard’s CEO Robert Kotick said pre-orders for Modern Warfare 3 have “significantly exceeded” those of Black Ops.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be available worldwide on 8 November.
