The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword out now

18 Nov 2011

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is out today for the Wii, marking the 25th anniversary of the adventure-gaming series.

The game is a prequel for the Nintendo 64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and introduces full motion control with either the Wii Remote Plus or Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus.

The controller synchronises the player’s movements with protagonist Link’s actions for more accurate sword combat. Players must master this control style to develop counter attacks for enemies.

The improved motion controls also apply to Link’s equipment, such as using bombs and arrows, and extends to guiding flying objects.

It’s also the first Zelda game to feature a fully orchestrated soundtrack.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is out now across Europe.
