Black Friday, a major US shopping day before Christmas, has arrived on European shores, bringing deals from retailers such as Apple, Gamestop and Amazon.
It’s the busiest shopping day on the US calendar, where many people take to the shops after Thanksgiving. Stores open early and offer major deals on their products to kickstart the Christmas shopping rush.
The growth of e-commerce has meant Black Friday has spread internationally, meaning Irish customers can pick up some bargains today.
Apple
Apple has brought its Black Friday savings to Irish shores, offering discounts on iPads, iPod touch devices and Macbooks for one day only.
Prices for all models of the iPad 2 have dropped. The 16GB model now costs €444, the 32GB model costs €534 and the 64GB model costs €624.
The iPod touch prices have dropped, with prices now starting from €178.
Prices for the Macbook Air, Macbook Pro and iMac have dropped by €91.
There are also bargains for peripherals, accessories and gift cards, which can be found on Apple’s website.
Amazon
Amazon has been running its Black Friday deals all week, which sees major discounts on products throughout each day.
Deals happen every 15 minutes with products such as books, watches, TVs, toys and make-up getting huge price reductions.

GameStop
GameStop will slash the prices for top games today, with new deals appearing from 8am to 8pm.
The gaming store is keeping people updated of these deals through its Facebook page.
The first deal of the day was the recently released adventure title Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception for €24.97, which has since sold out.
