As the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak doesn’t have to queue up or even buy his next iPad, but in what he describes as a ritual or a way of paying homage to the company he started with the late Steve Jobs, ‘Woz’ is today queuing up in LA for the new iPad.

US interactive TV show What’s Trending discovered Woz waiting in a queue overnight in LA with a handful of other keen buyers of the new tablet computer.

In a video posted on YouTube, Woz said he had been in the queue since noon yesterday and was first in line.

He said that as soon as he gets his hand on the new iPad he will go straight on to a conference he is keynoting.

“It’s a ritual almost because I’ve done it so many times. It’s not something I have to do but I’d rather be in there and be genuine like the real people who line up and wait all night and Apple’s that important to us.”

Woz said gadgets are the biggest thing in his life. “I’m really excited about the high quality screen and the slightly larger battery.

“Also, I will finally be able to put a lot more movies on it because I’m getting one with higher memory,” he said, adding that he’s going with a Verizon 4G connection based on his experience of LTE on various smartphones.
