4th of July Google Doodle was made for you and me
The Google Doodle honouring Indepdence Day in the US today
Internet search giant Google has rolled out the red, white and blue, as well as lyrics to a song, in its Google Doodle marking the 4th of July holiday – Independence Day - in the US.
The stylised Google logo on the company’s US homepage features the lyrics “This land was made for you and me” forming each letter of the word ‘Google.’ The top half of the letters consist of white stars on a blue background, and the bottom half features red and white stripes – a nod to the American flag.
The lyrics are from the folk song is This Land is Your Land, written by Woody Guthrie in the 1940s.
Independence Day celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on 4 July, 1776, when the US declared its independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.
