Windows user evolution (infographic)

26 Oct 2012

You’ve come a long way, Windows. From your beginnings in November 1983, when Microsoft co-founders Bill Gates and Paul Allen announced the new operating system in New York City, to Windows 8 of today, a new infographic notes how the OS and its users have evolved since its inception.

The infographic created by Freemake and published on the Freemake Blog provides a brief snapshot of how Windows has been upgraded and polished throughout its nearly 30 years, and how its users have used the technology throughout that time, too.

Windows 1.0 existed on desktop computers. Windows 8, which is available today, also runs on desktop computers, but also laptops, tablets, and even home theatre PCs.
