The latest Apple iPhone, the iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 has barely been out in the market and already there’s talk of an iPhone 5S being released in the spring of 2013.

This rumour comes courtesy of DigiTimes, which reports consumer tech giant Apple is expected to begin trial production of its new iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 5S, next month.

Initial production volumes of the smartphone are expected to reach 50,000-100,000, the report says, citing a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

The story also suggests Apple will release a new iPad tablet computer a few months after the iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 5 has only been out since September, and the most recent fourth-generation iPad, as well as the brand new iPad mini, has been on the market for about a month.
