Next iPad mini expected to come with a Retina display

1 Aug 2013

Apple’s next iteration of the iPad mini is expected to boast a Retina display manufactured by Samsung, Sharp and LG. It is understood component makers in Asia are tooling up to produce the next version of the diminutive 7.9-inch iPad.

According to the Wall Street Journal Samsung was only recently added to the list of suppliers who will manufacture the next generation of iPad devices.

Apple currently uses basic resolution screens made by LG and AU Optronics.

The tech giant is also understood contemplating multiple colour back covers for the new tablet device.

In recent days images have emerged of packaging for a low-cost version of the iPhone called the iPhone 5C, with speculation mounting that the “C” stands for “colour” insofar as the polycarbon devices may have interchangeable colour panels.
