Apple tries to convert Android users with how-to iOS guide

17 Sep 2014

In the latest battle of the fanboy wars, Apple is attempting to convert Android users to iOS by providing an online guide for them to become familiar with the operating system.

With the imminent launch of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch, the company believes there’s a chance they can convert users of the Google operating system by familiarising them with the look and feel of iOS, according to MacRumors.

Posted on the Apple website, the guide shows how to move data from an Android phone to an iPhone, including contacts, music, videos and apps.

This also includes a guide on how to transfer data and integrate into the iCloud, which has recently been embroiled in the leak of nude photos of celebrities.

As is the case with every new iPhone launch, the number of people on phone contracts seeking to upgrade to the latest Apple phone is expected to spike in the coming weeks, and with 1bn of the world’s smartphone users using Android phones, the need to claim more of the marketshare is paramount for Apple.

Apple seems to be on the right track with its latest phone. The company sold 4m devices in just 24 hours through various pre-ordering systems.
