Tesco unveils latest version of popular Hudl tablet

Supermarket chain and digital services provider Tesco has unveiled the latest incarnation of its popular Hudl tablet, the inventively titled Hudl2.

The 8.3-inch device, according to The Telegraph, boasts a a quad core Intel 1.83 GHz processor, making it three times faster than the previous Hudl. It’s also fitted with stereo speakers with Dolby-optimised audio and a 5-megapixel camera.

“We’ve improved on the tablet in every conceivable way,” said Michael Comish, Tesco’s chief digital officer.

“We haven’t rested on our laurels; we’ve spent the past year listening to our customers. At Tesco, we pride ourselves in making technology accessible.”

In keeping with the child-friendly nature of the Hudl, the new version comes with a pre-loaded parental filter. Parents can customise each profile according to their child’s age. It’s also available in eight colours, including jazzy blue, zesty orange, rocket red, tropical turquoise and perky purple.

The Hudl2 goes on sales on 9 October. It will retail at stg£129 (about €165) and will be available on Clubcard Boost, meaning it could cost as little as stg£65 (about €83).
