Comedian Reggie Watts

Gigglebit is Siliconrepublic’s daily dose of the funny and fantastic in science and tech, to help start your day on a lighter note.

To kick start your weekend, we thought we’d dig up this amazing presentation that musician/comedian Reggie Watts gave at POPTECH in 2010 that has attracted more than 1.3m views on YouTube. It’s an oldie, but a goldie.

Watts is an American comedian and musician known for his improvisational style and use of technology – mostly his voice, a keyboard and a looping machine – to make his point.

An avowed “disinformationist”, Watts frequently disorients his audiences and you never know what he is going to do, say or sing next.

His use of electronic music is made possible through his favourite instruments that include an iPhone, a Line 6 DL4 delay modeller, an Electro Harmonix 2880 and an Electro Harmonix 45000.

He is the winner of the 2005 Malcolm Hardee Oy Oy Award and the 2006 Andy Kaufman Comedy Award.
