Capcom posts Street Fighter V teaser trailer online (updated)

5 Dec 2014

The daddy of the modern beat ’em up is still very much alive and kicking with video-game publisher Capcom unveiling a teaser trailer that showcases the latest instalment of its Street Fighter franchise.

However, as pointed out by Event Hubs, the company may not totally be ready to release the clip as the YouTube upload has since gone private. It can, however, be viewed on Daily Motion below.

Street Fighter V will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PC, and appears to be loyal to the series’ arcade roots with its heavily stylised animation and trademark superhuman fireballs. The video features stalwart characters Ryu and Chun-Li, with clips from the game intercut with footage of gaming subcultures that have sprouted up due to the series’ popularity (for a more in-depth look, check out the online documentary I Am Street Fighter).

Below is the trailer and some screen shots.

Updated 11/12/2014: The video has since been posted to the official YouTube channel.
